The Great Snake Debate

So if anyone in my family is reading this, then I have given myself away, but I’m sure it will be okay as long I don’t name any names. Now I’m sure everyone has heard of Harry Potter, you know the boy wizard with the lightning bolt on his head. Well my niece had read somewhere on the internet (because we all know that is a reliable source) that the snake in the zoo and Lord Voldemorts familiar Nagini are the same snake.

Because we are all Harry Potter fans, and have seen the movies a hundred times, and read the books a thousand this started a debate. Half of us said that there was no possibility that could be true for several reasons. One the snake in the zoo was raised in captivity, two both of them are different snakes, and three why would Nagini be in a zoo?

It was actually a pretty fun debate which had us pulling out our books to find where what was said. I’m not even sure how that rumor got started. The only thing I can think of, is that in the movies, both snakes were computerized. I could see them using the same base design for the snakes which could spark the rumor, but not for the story.

This could be old news for some people. I tend to not watch interviews done by authors, because sometimes they wreck the story for me, but I thought it was worth writing about.

That’s all for now, thanks for visiting and have a nice day.

  1. I have no idea who actually came up with that notion; it was an obvious ‘fail’. LOL

  2. Definitely a fun debate =)
